Met Tancredo! Julie came to see my flat. George left note. Tancredo’s birthday. Is after 12 and am pipped as George came round during the day but as he didn’t find me he left note giving me phone number = have rung him twice in last three days, but is never in. After SCD I brought Julie home to see flat = likes it and agrees to suggested design for drawing room. At last took courage to talk to Tancredo = a Spaniard of very good looks and extremely interesting = seemed attracted to me, but Julie tells me he makes passes at all the blonde new-girls! He was on the stairway, in SCD, wearing a red-and-black plaid shirt. Our eyes met as I was coming down to the landing where he was waiting to go into a class. I’ve never seen black eyes like that, set in a face full of meaning and thought. Later, he asked me to sit with him at lunch, but no, as Bridget not well, but when she left I joined him. Two movement classes with Miss South = I’ll soon lose weight. Bath and washed hair, but no work done!
